SKILLS has made defining inroads into the TVET sector of Pakistan having positioned itself as a provider of technical assistance & capacity building. Working with some iconic institutions both in the public & private sectors, it has helped to deliver quality technical & vocational training that impart employable skills, which meet international standards.
SKILLS is also the Authorized Representative of City & Guilds in Pakistan. City & Guilds of UK is the world’s foremost international vocational qualification awarding body. Founded in 1878, City & Guilds is a Royal Chartered institution certifying nearly 2m qualifiers annually in a wide array of technical & vocational disciplines. Competence gained through City & Guilds qualifications are widely acclaimed by employers as a benchmark for workplace excellence.
In its capacity as the authorized representative, SKILLS has facilitated around 200 training institutions to become ‘City & Guilds approved centres’ to deliver City & Guilds qualification programs. These qualifications range from Engineering, English Language, Hospitality, Hair & Beauty to Business Support Skills. SKILLS has supported these institutions with implementation, capacity building and training material.
SKILLS is also mandated to conduct Examination & Assessment services for all City & Guilds Technical & Vocational awards, whilst English Language Examinations are conducted at secure testing centres.
What We Do
As the authorized representative of City & Guilds, Skills International (SKILLS) facilitation extends from advisory services in the Qualification Selection, assessing the infrastructure availability, layout planning, machinery and equipment requirement, training of trainers, trainer supervision to development of Teaching Learning Resource (TLR) materials amongst others.
SKILLS is now a significant player in the TEVT sector in Pakistan with key accounts in both the public and the private sector. Its main office is located in Lahore, manned by dedicated executive staff with a representative presence in Karachi. The Pakistan office has enabled its operations to have reached key cities in Pakistan.
SKILLS derives its technical strength from its exposure in the Sri Lankan TVET sector that leads the South Asian region in TVET standards. SKILLS has used this expertise in Pakistan and has been engaged in providing technical assistance to several milestone initiatives, both in the Public & the Private Sector. Amongst these are,
- Implementation of City & Guilds programs & assessments in 25 Technical & Vocational Training Institutes managed by TEVTA- Punjab (Technical Education & Vocational Training Authority).
- Training over 300 TEVTA trainers under Training of Trainer (ToT) programme.
- Developing Teaching Learning Resource (TLR) materials for City & Guilds Engineering Qualifications.
- Providing turnkey solutions for the establishment of AmanTech, a state of the art Technical Training Institute in Karachi with a vision to provide training to 5000 students.[/one_half][one_half]
- Technical Assistance to the Hunar Foundation in Karachi that provides free training in craft level courses for employable skills.
- Provided training for Depilex in Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy under City & Guilds certification.
- Bringing Hashoo Foundation on board as City & Guilds approved centre for Hospitality Programmes.
- Preparation of practical question papers for City and Guilds IVQ qualifications covering Engineering, Textile, Hospitality trades.
- Training of Competency Standard Development for TVET staff of Pakistan in association with GIZ Islamabad, Pakistan.
City & Guilds Qualifications
Skills International promotes City & Guilds qualifications for employable skills in Pakistan. It also facilitates the City & Guilds program implementation at approved centres.

Success Stories of AMANTECH
|Rana Hashim was struggling to meet ends meet, with no decent employment prospects due to his lack of education. Through AMANTECH he was able to study Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineering whilst also doing odd jobs and part time work to provide for his family. He completed a one year City & Guilds Diploma in this subject with flying colours, after which he was able to secure employment abroad. Success Stories of Hunar Foundation
|Muhammad, aged 22, lives in Akhter with his parents and five siblings. He completed his matriculation in 2006 and would go to his father’s workshop for training. At the same time he continued his studies in college and completed his intermediate in 2011. In order to become a proper certified technician he joined The Hunar Foundation to study to become a Mechanical Fitter in January 2011. He completed his one year vocational training successfully, obtaining good grades and earning a City & Guilds (UK) Diploma. He has joined his father’s Engineering shop and now earns a good salary.||
SKILLS Online Career Portal
Skills International Pakistan has been working towards creating the brand acceptance and to support the students and centers by doing various activities. In this regard, we have launched an on-line job portal which is powered by Pakistan’s leading on-line head hunting company Rozee.pk having more than 60,000 registered employers and a database of 3.9 million users which helps individuals to find better jobs in almost every sector of the industry.
SKILL’S job portal will be promoted within City & Guild’s approved training centers in Pakistan by registering the students who are enrolled under various City and Guild’s training programmes as well as the alumni. This portal will be connected with national and international employers to create awareness, employability, internships and apprenticeship opportunities in the areas such as Engineering, Hospitality, Hair and Beauty, IT etc. The portal will also have success stories and testimonials gathered through centers, employers and candidates.
